Andy Rice

Andy Rice

Andy Rice represents the ultimate proof that you don't need to have any musical talent in order to enjoy rock and pop. Andy is by some margin the least musically inclined in his entire extended family (including the golden retriever and a number of goldfish), a fact which was cruelly highlighted at an early age when he was allowed to take part in his prep school Christmas concert only on the condition that he mimed throughout. Despite this childhood trauma, Andy loved rock music from the very first time that his elder brothers played him Paul Anka's “Diana” (or was it “At The Hop” by Danny & The Juniors?). As the talking half of the “This Week in Rock” programme, he's hugely relieved that he scored the easy role: it's so much harder to write the script than to read it.
